Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Irvine, California. This is a long-term contract opportunity in the retail industry, where you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Accounting department. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a meticulous demeanor to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. Responsibilities: - Maintain and update cash management spreadsheets on a daily basis to track corporate and regional banking activities. - Record and reconcile daily deposits, checks, and financial debits/credits to ensure accurate account records. - Monitor and manage bank balances for various locations, providing regular updates to stakeholders. - Compile and deliver financial reports and supporting documentation to regional offices as needed. - Upload positive pay data to the bank's website to ensure secure and accurate transactions. - Process book transfers and clear checks to maintain smooth financial operations. - Handle accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and vendor payment reconciliation. - Reconcile credit card statements to ensure proper expense tracking and reporting. - Organize and maintain Accounting department documents by scanning, filing, and updating records. - Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the department's goals. Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms. - Experience with ADP and Ceridian financial services. - Familiarity with Concur for expense management. - Strong background in core accounting functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable. - Knowledge of auditing processes and billing procedures. - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
