The Opportunity

As a Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer, you will be a key player in enabling Kelly+Partners’ next phase of growth. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the broader team and will be exposed to a variety of clients and the opportunity to learn in a public practice environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform bookkeeping duties such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • Process payments and handle daily banking activities.
  • Provide management reports for the client directly from the accounting software.
  • Prepare and lodge basic individual and business tax returns in compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Assist clients with tax-related queries and gather necessary documentation for tax preparation.
  • Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and submitted on time to avoid penalties.
  • Monitor daily client activity, handle requests, and conduct timely follow ups on outstanding matters.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax law and accounting standards relevant to client's needs.
  • Participate in training seminars, team meetings and social events.

About You

  • 3 years practical bookkeeping work experience.
  • Experience in preparing and lodging individual and business tax returns (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Understanding of accounting, bookkeeping standards, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with a variety of accounting software.
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax laws confidently.
  • Ability to manage time to complete tasks in the required timeframe.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Committed to providing exceptional service to our clients.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and enthusiastic.
