Allegria Village is a 35-acre senior living community in Dearborn offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing—all within one connected campus. We’re currently seeking a dependable and hard-working Grounds & Maintenance Assistant to support both our outdoor landscaping and indoor maintenance operations.

This is a dual-role position ideal for someone with a flexible skill set who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

Groundskeeping Duties:

• Maintain outdoor areas by trimming hedges, weeding, and watering plants

• Perform daily rounds to ensure a clean, well-kept appearance of the campus

• Remove trash and debris from the grounds

Maintenance Support:

• Assist with general building maintenance tasks, including basic HVAC , plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs

• Help ensure safety, comfort, and functionality of facilities for residents and staff

• Support scheduled preventive maintenance activities

Team Collaboration:

• Work alongside other maintenance team members and assist external contractors when necessary

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to complete tasks efficiently

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, kneeling)

• Basic troubleshooting skills for grounds and building systems

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Time management and task prioritization abilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required

• Valid driver’s license; must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including a landscaping truck

• At least 1 year of experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or both

• Ability to pass a background check as a condition of employment
