Job Description

The Instrument/Electrical Technician plays a crucial role in a Reliability Based Maintenance environment, ensuring the upkeep of advanced electronic process measuring and control instrumentation for fermentation, packaging, and utility systems. This position also involves maintaining the company's power distribution systems and electrical services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Technician will:

• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on process instrumentation and production equipment.
• Configure and maintain complex computer systems, including PLCs and DCS.
• Train staff on instrumentation maintenance in line with company standards.
• Advise on equipment design and maintenance requirements for projects.
• Assess priorities for troubleshooting and proactive maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints for equipment installation and repair.
• Utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Install and repair electrical systems and components in plant machinery.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have a Journeyman Certificate or a Technical/Vocational diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in PLC/DCS systems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Candidates should possess:

• Understanding of the pharmaceutical/bio-technology industry.
• Knowledge of GMP processes and equipment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to access all plant areas, lift up to 55 lbs, and operate a fork truck safely.
