Contech Engineered Solutions is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Montgomery, AL . The Engineering Intern will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Team along with plant personnel to perform assigned tasks. Local candidates only.

About the Role:

The intern’s primary responsibilities will include the evaluation of existing equipment and the associated drawing packages to ensure accuracy and revise as needed to create a document set that properly represents said equipment. Additionally, the intern may be asked to work with key personnel to identify potential improvements to existing equipment / processes and translate those opportunities into drawings that represent the appropriate modifications.

• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and timely project completion.
• Provide project support for submittals, production and product delivery.
• Will be required to conduct local site visits to collect data, confirm designs.
• Maintain engineering standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Completion of sophomore or junior year in a mechanical engineering, or similar program.
• Highly proficient in Solid Works, AutoCad, or both.
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently, as well as with team members.
• Must be a self-starter and able to execute job tasks with limited supervision.
• Must be detail oriented.
