Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 3+ month contract (extendable)
Shift: Day, 3×12 (07:00–19:30)
Pay Rate: $56.00 (Travel) | $45.00 (Local)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Pediatric Bio-Behavioral Unit. This role requires both pediatric and psychiatric experience. Candidates will work every other weekend and some holidays.
Qualifications:
Current New York State LPN license.
CPR certification (current or able to obtain/re-certify).
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (pediatric and psychiatric experience required).
Inpatient care experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
Responsibilities:
Deliver patient care in an acute care pediatric behavioral health setting with minimal orientation and supervision.
Greet patients, escort to exam rooms, and prepare for examinations.
Assist during exams, set up trays for injections, measure and record patient progress, and take vital signs.
Support physicians with procedures, injections, and other treatments.
Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas.
Perform administrative tasks including reception, appointment scheduling, filing, chart preparation, and obtaining insurance authorizations for tests or procedures.
Contact primary care physicians for referrals or extensions of existing referrals.
Implement nursing care plans under the direction of the primary or associate nurse.
Monitor and report patient responses to treatment.
Participate in nursing unit management activities.
