Primary Objectives
The Maintenance and Grounds Worker is a key line-level position responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and minor repairs of the MBWR properties and grounds. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives, as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Assists with the routine upkeep, maintenance, and repair of roads, trails, bridges, fences, facilities and grounds.
  • Cleans, services, and makes minor repairs to machinery, equipment, buildings, fixtures and grounds.
  • Checks assigned equipment daily to ensure adequate tire pressure as well as sufficient fuel, oil, and other fluid levels.
  • Performs routine lawn care such as mowing, hedging, edging, fertilizing, preparing annual beds, weed eradication, and ant prevention.
  • Assists in servicing all equipment including blowers, edger’s, hedgers, lawnmowers, chain saws, pressure washers, and air compressors.
  • Performs pressure washing.
  • Cleans outdoor furniture and pavilions.
  • Assists in setting up pavilions for all public gatherings and functions.
  • Follows all safety requirements and wears personal protective equipment as required.
  • Provides transportation for tubing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ verifiable job related employment experience required.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and an insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

  • Must be well organized and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to routinely walk up and down stairs, climb ladder, stand, bend, and carry items weighing from 50-80 pounds.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently as required.
  • Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.
  • Takes accountability for performance and results.
  • Open and honest communicator and follows policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
