Job Description

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Lexington, Nebraska, 68850

Duration: 08+ Weeks with Possible Extension

Shift:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 07:00 AM – 04:00 PM

  • Tuesday, Thursday: 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM

    Pay Rate: $22/hour (W2)

Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports both the front and back office operations in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include patient interaction, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care. The CMA plays a vital role in assisting providers while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and room patients in a professional and timely manner.

  • Perform clinical duties such as taking vitals, drawing blood, administering vaccines, and conducting EKGs.

  • Provide additional clinical support as directed by healthcare providers.

  • Assist with scheduling patient appointments and answering phones.

  • Conduct point-of-care (POC) testing as required.

  • Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Support health education and outreach efforts.

  • Maintain effective communication and teamwork with clinical and administrative staff.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience (in addition to externship).

  • Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.

  • Occupational Health experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR systems required.

  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and computer skills required.

  • Commitment to patient education and community health engagement.

Required Skills
  • Front and back office experience.

  • EKG administration.

  • Point-of-Care (POC) testing.

  • Patient scheduling and rooming.

  • Vital signs collection.

  • Current BLS or CPR certification.
