Position Summary
The Radial Drill Operator performs a wide range of duties involving the setup and operation of manual radial drills and hand tools to meet manufacturing, quality, and performance standards. This role contributes to exceeding customer expectations by delivering quality service in a timely manner while embodying our POWER culture —Positive, Open, Winning, Energetic, and Resilient.
Essential Functions - Sets up and operates manual radial drills and hand tools to achieve high levels of quality and productivity.
- Reads and interprets blueprints to perform accurate and precise operations.
- Completes all required documentation and computer transactions accurately and on time.
- Follows all procedures associated with job functions, including Quality and Aerospace standards.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and team problem-solving efforts.
- Engages in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintains an open line of communication with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Keeps work area and equipment clean, safe, and organized in alignment with safety standards.
- Adheres to all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains and protects company assets under their control while fostering loss prevention awareness.
- Strictly adheres to safety procedures and quality standards, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Job Requirements - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in decimals, fractions, geometry, and basic math.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Basic reading, writing, and English language skills.
- Basic computer skills to complete job-related transactions.
Physical Requirements - Regularly lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries 25 pounds or more.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during a full shift.
- Frequently bends, squats, or reaches below and overhead.
- Ability to move freely within the machine shop environment.
Physical Work Environment - Exposure to consistent machine noise, HVAC systems, dust, oil, and chemicals.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves, is required at all times.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized workspace in adherence to safety standards.
