Job Description:

  • Review and interpret contractual terms and conditions along with accurately setting-up and updating contracts in the royalty system so that authors are compensated for their work.

  • Research royalty payments and account set-ups in response to inquiries from royalty recipients.

  • Ensure that financial commitments of prepaid advances and royalty payments are processed in a timely manner.

  • Monitor, understand and resolve not always well-defined problems and inquiries related to royalties .

  • Provide guidance and training to CDC (50) publishing clients throughout the year. Training involves using CISPUB software package for entering and updating new and existing publishing contracts, updating payment information, correcting balancing errors and issues, entering subsidiary rights income and all other matters that pertain to the author royalty account.

  • Collect and distribute subsidiary rights income received from third-party license agreements issued around the world for both the books and journals division.

  • Special projects as assigned.

  • May initiate correspondence and other written materials under own signature or for signature of the leader. Triages emails and telephone calls for action. Resolves a combination of some routine and complex inquiries.

  • Provides administrative support for a leader. Stays informed of activities relating to programs and initiatives, apprising the leader of issues when deemed necessary. Coordinates information flow from leader's office.

  • Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Education :

  • College degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of publishing experience in a royalty department setting.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Microsoft programs i.e., Excel, word, outlook etc.

  • Knowledge of publishing and royalty statements.

Preferred Competencies

  • Candidate must possess excellent verbal and oral communication skills along with experience working with royalty statements and authors.

Working Conditions

  • Candidate is allowed to work from home.
