PortSwigger’s Burp Suite is the go-to tool for web security, trusted by 17,000+ organizations—including Google, Amazon, and NASA. As we expand our presence in the US market, we’re looking for a top-tier sales executive to drive our enterprise growth.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer who thrives at the intersection of technology and customer engagement. This role is critical in helping prospective customers understand the value of PortSwigger's solutions by providing expert technical guidance, managing proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to success.

You’ll work closely with sales, product, and customer teams to deliver outstanding technical demonstrations, address complex queries, and provide insights that shape the future of our products. Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Strong domain knowledge, with a passion for becoming a subject matter expert in PortSwigger’s solutions.
  • Ability to run technical demos, lead PoC engagements, and communicate the technical value of our products to different stakeholders.
  • Technical versatility, including a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and secure software development principles.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, ensuring smooth customer experience.
  • Proactively seeks customer feedback and relays structured insights to product teams to improve user experience.
  • Able to tailor engagements to different customer personas, ensuring relevance and value in every interaction.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including clear communication, empathy, and problem-solving to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • Works closely with sales teams to develop pre-sales strategies that align with customer needs and deal sizes.
  • Supports internal teams by training sales representatives on product features and technical aspects.
  • Thrives in high-performance group environments, supporting others and fostering a culture of teamwork.
  • Expectation management is key—you know how to set realistic timelines and deliverables, ensuring customers and internal teams are aligned.

Desired Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in a technical sales, solutions consulting, or pre-sales engineering role.
  • Experience in roles such as Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager (TAM), Technical Solutions Consultant, or Technical Support is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with on-premise and hybrid software environments.
  • Experience in communicating complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering effective sales enablement improvements; creating and delivering training, improving workflows, and creating reusable resources such as PoC templates, demo scripts, and technical videos.
  • Experience with low-touch onboarding approaches to ensure smooth customer transitions with minimal intervention.
