Internship Term: Summer 2025

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between Fall 2025 through Spring 2027.

The summer intern will actively contribute to the development and enhancement of vehicle voice assistant systems, playing a key role in identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions. Additionally, the intern will explore advancements in speech technology to foster more natural and efficient voice interactions.

• Support the development and refinement of ASR and TTS models tailored for vehicle infotainment systems, including data preparation, preprocessing, and model training.
• Perform data analysis on speech datasets to improve recognition accuracy, model robustness, and support the creation of customized language models.
• Conduct testing and benchmarking of ASR and TTS systems on various platforms, identifying areas for improvement and fine-tuning model performance.
• Document key findings, progress, and insights related to ASR and TTS model performance, and present results to team members at regular intervals.

• Must be currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree at an accredited university.
• Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Computer science, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning or similar. 
• Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or similar.
• Experience programming in C++, Python, or related languages.
• Experience in one or more areas of generative AI, such as automatic speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), language model, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and an eagerness to learn.

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships : The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
