Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to manage clients' financial information. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing general ledger accounts, and ensuring clear communication with clients. You will work closely with the Director of Accounting, without direct reports, to provide accurate financial data and maintain high client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from clients and various departments.
Record clients' inventories and transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate with software teams to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues.
Review, code, and import banking transactions into the accounting system.
Maintain cash flow tools and record petty cash and deposits as needed.
Reconcile accounts, record general ledger entries, and ensure proper classification of assets, liabilities, expenses, and sales.
Analyze the P&L and balance sheet to make accruals, amortize expenses, and record necessary journal entries.
Prepare and file tax forms and handle quarterly filings.
Perform quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues with tax authorities when needed.
Communicate with clients to clarify financial data and ensure accuracy.
Work on special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Excellent communication, organization, and analytical problem-solving skills.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient with automated accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools.
Experience with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
Required Experience & Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least one year of experience as a General Ledger (GL) Accountant.
A background in the restaurant industry (including front-of-house, back-of-house, or management experience).
Candidates with extensive (5+ years) accounting experience, even without a degree, will be considered.
Comfort with cloud-based systems and learning new software tools is essential.
This position may occasionally require evening or weekend work, resulting in overtime.
