Position Overview: The Yard Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard. This role may also require operating a forklift to move products or shipments.

Key Responsibilities:
Safely back various sizes of trailers into assigned dock/yard spaces, engage dock locks and/or chocks, and deploy trailer stands for all trailers spotted at the dock.
Park and organize trailers in the warehouse yard.
Frequently mount and dismount the yard spotter and slide trailer tandems independently.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractors and complete DVIRs.
Utilize the Yard Management System (YMS) or applicable tools to manage inbound and outbound trailer movements.
Assist with refueling yard tractors.
Operate forklifts to move shipments between trailer movements.
Coordinate with office clerks on trailer movements and prioritize movements to ensure no downtime for warehouse associates.
Adhere to company policies, participate in required training, and maintain cleanliness of the truck.
Complete all system and manual reports/logs accurately and in a timely manner.
Operate all equipment safely, observing all traffic regulations.
Accountable for all assigned tools and equipment.
Report any unsafe conditions, injuries, or damages to management.
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable spotting experience.
Minimum of 6 months of related experience or training in a distribution environment.
Forklift experience preferred.
Must pass company physical, drug screen, and background check.
Willing to work in inclement weather, if necessary.
No accidents and no more than two minor moving violations in the last three years.
