Job Description

We are looking for a School Counselor who is confident in their ability to:

  • provide guidance and support to students, addressing their academic, social, and personal needs.
  • help students develop effective strategies to manage day to day challenges.
  • collaborate with families, teachers, and other school staff to support student success.
  • oversee the Center for Belonging as a place to support the social-emotional health of students.
  • offer programming for staff and families around important topics in child development.
  • be an active participant in the School’s Child Support Team (CST) overseen by the Learning Specialist.
  • develop and implement proactive programming to assist in students’ social-emotional development and to create a sense of belonging for each student and family.
  • implement crisis intervention when necessary.
  • participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates must be a licensed mental health provider. Experience in the field, particularly training in art, play, and/or sand therapy as well as trauma focused CBT, is advantageous but not required. This opportunity requires excellent strategies and skills in communication, collaboration, and organization with an appreciation for confidentiality, equity, belonging, and professional growth.
